My recent work aims to explore the tension between resistance and acceptance of change.  By printing my photographs onto a synthetic paper, I work through the process of letting outside forces such as gravity, movement and dust impact the image. The paper resists the ink, allowing the colors to run together and change over time. I am interested in the relationship between maintaining control, versus surrendering to process and material. Neat and orderly digital pixels mutate in translation to the paper, turning portraits and landscapes into ambiguous abstractions, like fading memories. I am interested in the dialogue between two forces, their influence on each other, and the impermanence of it all.
